CircleSeven 1945 Posted September 4, 2012 Share Posted September 4, 2012 The B&C is reporting this morning that Journal Communications will acquire WTVF (Channel 5) in Nashville from Landmark Media Enterprises, for $215 Mil. energy812 0 Posted September 4, 2012 Share Posted September 4, 2012 With WTVF (Channel 5 CBS) getting sold to Journal, WTVF's sister station in Las Vegas will switch from KLAS (Channel 8 CBS) to KTNV (Channel 13 ABC). It will be very interesting to see who ends up buying KLAS, that is if they decide to sell it or not. A lot of TV deals happening lately..... Although, I didn't even think Landmark was still selling off properties. I'm pretty sure Sinclair would love to get its hands on KLAS. Keep in mind that as part of their most recent affiliation deal, Fox can purchase KVCW and KVMY from Sinclair. The first shoe to drop was when they sold The Weather Channel to NBCUniversal & Bain. WTVF did have a buyer at one time (Bonten Media Group; owners of WCYB in the Tri-Cities, TN/VA), but the deal fell through due to the recession.
