johnnya2k6 171
As I said on The National forum, we're inching closer to the Super Bowl of TV news events: Election Night 2012, where it's anything goes in providing the best coverage. But when it comes to graphics, the networks will no doubt outdo themselves as there'll be lots of them throughout the night with projections, results, polls, the whole nine yards, all generated in real-time. We don't know what they'll have up their sleeves, but I know it will be a big night for Vizrt as CBS, CNN, ABC and Fox News will be using them (NBC's and MSNBC's will be in-house). Also, we could be seeing iPads play a role; if Tim Russert was alive today, he would've had a ball with it. Locally? Not so much; most stations may cover up the network totals at the bottom with their own. But whatever the case, Election Night will be the ultimate graphics showcase...that is, if they get Hurricane/Superstorm Sandy out of the way first!
