CircleSeven 1955
TVNewsCheck said that KNBC will be expanding its weekend newscast, effective this weekend. The station will have a 5pm newscast on both Saturday & Sunday Nights. And it will expand its 11pm newscast to a full hour on Sunday Nights. Remember last month, sister station WNBC expanded its 11pm Sunday night newscast to a full hour. 24994J 5577
They only had the 6pm before, I'd assume? Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/12423-knbc-expanding-its-weekend-newscasts/#findComment-78747 Share on other sites
Guest Former Member 207
KNBC had a 5pm weekend newscast for years prior to NBC launching Sunday Night Football, and even a 4pm Sunday newscast until the early 2000s. SNF kinda forced them to change around the weekend evening schedule; on Saturdays, it used to be news at 5, Nightly News at 6, McLaughlin Group at 6:30pm, weekend Extra at 7; Sundays would be news at 4, Nightly News at 5:30, Access Hollywood at 6. It's not much of a surprise since Comcast took over NBC; its stations, as we all know, have beef-up their news product, and at least here in Los Angeles, KNBC's news product is gradually climbing back to respectability prior to the Jeff Zucker era. rah6448 21
Pardon the bump, but it seems that KNBC has also switched out VO's for the opens in time for this move, switching in John Pleisse. The dude seems to be becoming the voice of the O&O lately!
