Viper550 293 Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Well, until now;, they used to use Inergize (much like the other New Vision TV stations), but now they're using this new platform that appears to be WordPress based (Its strange that everyone is going to them now). http://www.ksn.com/ http://www.cbs42.com/ I'm not sure I like these; they feel way too plain in a different way. You think they would have stayed with EndPlay...
channel2 982 Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Maybe WordPress is just easier to use, not to mention that it's a free, non-proprietary platform (even if WordPress.com VIP does cost a lot of money). They are rather plain, but it seems like they were trying to get away from appearing too "cramped".
CircleSeven 1963 Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 They're trying to make those sites "responsive" so folks with mobile devices can see the website. It seems too "naked".
channel2 982 Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 What happened to having a desktop and mobile version of a site? I know a lot of traffic originates from mobile devices these days, but it seems like the crossover between "desktop" and "mobile" site design misunderstands a simple thing: mobile sites are more pared-down because the screens are smaller.
tyrannical bastard 4060 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 For their Youngstown stations, both foxyoungstown.com (WYFX) and WYTV.com are mirroring WKBN.com (using the 27 First News logo on all 3 addresses). I wonder if they intend to create variations for all 3 stations, or a unified site for all 3 stations. Since the former New Vision stations have all dropped the Inergize platform, I wonder how long it will be before the newly acquired Sinclair stations from Newport switch over...
who?cares 255 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I wonder if the old stations are going to be getting new sites soon...
Viper550 293 Posted April 9, 2013 Author Posted April 9, 2013 http://www.koinlocal6.com/ Well, do you want your own, complimentary CBS O&O wallpaper?
PTVNews 197 Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 I'm not an expert but I was looking at some of the source code and it looks like all Lin's sites are hosted at newspubli.sh but then presented using the station's urls. Idk....just something I noticed. The sites are ok. I think they could use a little work as the look a little basic but their not terrible. Some pages though display no content.
