Duke University holds a digitized archive of the slide library of the Outdoor Advertising Association of America with images of billboards. Naturally, local TV is in the mix. Here is about half of their TV stuff.

Some gorgeous design work in here. (My personal favorite of course is the KPNX one, but that's just me.)

I like the KNXV Star Trek one the most, great colors and the iconic Enterprise. And a personal favorite typeface of mine, Frutiger.

The pre-Fox KRLD logo is hideous, though.

My favorites are the KNXV Star Trek billboard (the Enterprise flying over the Arizona desert is just an awesome image, and like channel2 said the colors used are beautiful) and the WOR News 9 Primetime billboard.

Kinda funny how the KPNX billboard is on a Gannett-owned billboard (they've since sold those off to what's now CBS Outdoor, though they originally came from Combined Comm.), but their 12 logo at that point is horribly ugly. :ack:

That last one is probably KABC.

The WSVN one is really intriguing; keep in mind, they had just changed their calls from WCKT.
