Sounds like WPIX needs a new news director and quick.

I wonder if KTLA's news director would be interested. They helped KTLA get out of it's funk that was in during the 2000's and is starting to look like a serious news station again and beat KTTV in the ratings again I think (at least in the morning, not sure about 10PM).

If Vickie Burns was brought in, then I think we can expect some firings on the way if her tenure at KNBC and WNBC are any indications of what's to come.

On a side note, is Jerry Barmash the author of the Tuned-In blog the same person as TVNT users Anchordude and Newyorktalent? It seems like they have the same information regarding WPIX, in terms of ratings and inside stories and all their posts seems to be very critical of WPIX.

Since Don Corsini came to KTLA in 2009, KTLA has seen a huge ratings increase in the morning. They are almost #1 in the 5-7 am block in viewers. They are #1 in the demo from 5-10 a.m. KTLA is weaker in evenings, especially at 6p.m. They are #3 at 10 p.m. but only 1,000 viewers separate between 2nd and 3rd place. Below are viewer numbers. Just a side note as recent as a couple years ago, KNBC was #1 in the mornings. Now they're down to 4th.

5 a.m.

KABC 89,000

KTLA 83,000

KNBC 40,000
