TV Tuner Export Question

If you have a TV tuner, I am wondering what software do you use to convert the media center file and also what settings do you export it at (ex. MPEG, MP4, etc...) Thank you

If you use Microsoft Windows Media Center (in Windows 7/8/8.1), the recorded TV files it creates can be imported into Windows Movie Maker. From there, they can be edited or converted to WMV or MP4 format.

If you have a Mac, EyeTV is expensive but is a great Windows Media Center turner.

Sorry for the late bump. I use Video ReDo - edits are limited to cuts (no fades, etc), but it takes nearly anything I throw at it (including Windows Media WTV files) and can spit out MPEG2 & MPEG4 in any number of containers. It can also adjust resolution (haven't seen what "up scaling" does though). I use it to trim the outsides of newscasts I pull from either a USB tuner stick or HD HomeRun, as well as to edit commercials out of programming that I convert to MPEG4 for the iPad.
