You know something I was thing. I know Gannett is headquartered in Virginia, but with the company acquired Belo last year and now acquiring London Broadcasting;

I have a hunch that maybe Gannett will be building a new office in Dallas for its Texas stations.

Worst Case Scenario; I don't know how many newspapers Gannett owned and I know its out of the question, but in a cople of years, Gannett may want in on The Dallas Morning News.

Unless they throw out the outdated newspaper-broadcast cross-ownership (NBCO) rule, as long as they own Channel 8, Gannett cannot acquire The Dallas Morning News.

More likely, Gannett will wise up and spin off their newspaper division into a separate entity.

USA Today has to be a massive money incinerator.

I think a major reason for making the stations look like USAToday was to sell more copies.

On the 24th the FCC granted the application to transfer KUIL from Bluebonnet to London (KUIL License Company); through a clause in the Gannett acquisition, this station will become part of the Gannett family.

KUIL's deal with London is now been consummated. It was closed on Monday.

I wouldn't be shocked if they make the amendments to add KUIL to the existing pending applications.

Yes they did. Now lets see how long until the FCC greenlights the KUIL part of the deal.

I still can't see London keeping KCEB & KTXD all by themselves in the long haul.
