CircleSeven 1960 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Looks like Fox News may finally have some competition. B&C states late this morning that conservative media publication, Newsmax, will launch its own cable channel airing on DirecTV in mid-June. It also state that they will also start an "over-the-top" channel later in the summer.
MorningNews 1483 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I've never really heard of them but it will be interesting to see if Fox has a loyal audience that's attached to their programs or an audience that just wants anything conservative despite who the personalities are.
tyrannical bastard 4018 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 These are the same people who place paid "widgets" on websites and try to mix in insightful topics like "How to take $1000 of your Social Security Check" and "Does Obamacare cause cancer?" (well, not really the last one, but you get the idea....)
jmkcool2002 8 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 It's launched for a long time, you can watch it on newsmax.tv I'm sure that'll change once the DirecTV deal kicks into gear.
mightynine 290 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I'm sure the direct marketers will welcome yet another outlet for their wares.
Rusty Muck 4390 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 It also state that they will also start an "over-the-top" channel later in the summer. Considering what NewsMax IS, that phrase could be taken either way. The first person that could qualify for a big "name" under current NewsMax employment is the legendarily inaccurate electoral prognosticator Dick Morris. Rudy Guliani's also a commentator. Basically, a D-team of Republican punditry.
