nbcnewyork2014 0 Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 My guess is Kristen Welker will take on both roles tho Chris Jansing is also a possibility. Luke Russert is a possibility for the Daily Rundown and Lester Holt is a long shot possibility for Chief White House Correspondent. That's a better role for him then Weekend Today is IMHO.
rkolsen 1685 Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 I doubt that they will use Chris Jansing but she was named the Senior White House Correspondent and doubt she would return so quickly to hosting her own show. From what I have seen Kristin Welker and Peter Alexander are the best options to take over hosting The Daily Rundown. I agree that it would be a long shot (and a demotion) for Lester Holt if he were to be appointed the Chief White House Correspondent. As for Luke Russert - I care for him. I know when his father died he was given the job as a youth correspondent, but most recently has been a congressional reporter. I do realize that if he hasn't grown as a reporter they wouldn't have kept him on this long. When he guest hosts on The Daily Rundown or on the Cycle I can't shake the feeling that he could be reading the teleprompter from some nerdy fraternity. He just gives off this vibe of being a fraternity "bro".
nbcnewyork2014 0 Posted September 4, 2014 Author Posted September 4, 2014 Yeah Peter's a possibility. Brian Williams used to anchor Saturday Nightly News while he was Chief White House Correspondent.
isherman 0 Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Luke Russert or Peter Alexander are my choices for hosting duties at TDR.
rkolsen 1685 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 MSNBC and Telemundo have confirmed that starting November 17 The Daily Rundown will be expanded to two hours from 9-11AM and will be hosted from Miami by Jose Diaz-Balart. https://twitter.com/telemundonews/status/527949846670737408
