I’ve always thought they had a cramped set/studio. Would love to see how they remake the new designs. the temp set isn’t that bad either.

They premiered Washington Week from the new studio. Appears they use one pedestal camera shots. Along with the two PTZ cameras on each “retractable” wall. The PTZ appears to be setup where one is a wide shot and another is a close shot. They appear to use transitions to change the close up shot.

I love the set, supposedly took 4 years to come to fruition - probably most of it was planning and building the extension to the building. I love how they have large curved monitor wall slightly with its own background. The a separate backdrop allows a canvas slightly with an aspect ratio larger than a 16:9 float above much like the 4:3 OTS elements. I also love the ingenuity of the two-two camera set up with a PTZ heads on the top/bottom of a cutout. It’s great that when they’re not in use they can slide back between two walls. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/394023269948456961/1249911659632394240/RPReplay_Final1718072407.mov

I think as long as it makes money CBS will be happy. Sounds like they may have a solid financial footing. The stars will likely not be commanding the same amount of money as “The Talk”. Nor the more establish soaps.

CBS Sunday Morning - Will it Ever Go Back to Live?
rkolsen replied to Jascarter's topic in Network News
Significantly cheaper using a green screen. Less space needed, fewer stage hands. I assume the set used for Christmas is in storage the rest of the year. -
Surprising giving this is a major marker.

The helicopter went down at 2002 and they didn’t receive it was missing until 2250. I don’t know who dropped the ball, surely someone would have tracked it or know how long they’d be out.

It’s underwhelming. Basically they redid the floors, replaced the desk, hid the weather center with a monitor wall, and added a monitor wall on the back wall? Am I missing anything? I understand there’s only so much you can do at times but their set IMO was fine as is. I wonder if this was an update done by the station with money the had or the O&O office had them freshen it up.

It makes sense - given NBC is unifying logos and fonts among network.

It’s not necessary. The program is going out in widescreen. However, many HDTVs like old analog TVs have overscan. This can be turned off but most people don’t know how to change it. So it’s best to keep most graphics 14:9 safe.

That is pretty darn impressive. Is YouTube the only method of distributing these videos either Live or recorded? Just for privacy reasons I’d suggest deleting the past.

Had a does it look like Denver?

Maybe it’s been mentioned but I didn’t know realize it until now, Bloomberg previously had 2 channels a FAST simulcast called Bloomberg UHD+ and then recently the HD feed went to the same layout. I thought they were just downscaling the UHD feed, however almost all the content save for the indices are different they both have the TV schedule pop up but HD seemed more detailed on interview guests than UHD. The news on UHD is more of a paragraph contrasted to the HD which has bullet points

Sorry, I’m a bit late. I would recommend checking out antennaweb.org they list the stations you should get based on your address and antennas are colour coded by type.

Great catch!

Then set ”upgrade” looks beautiful.

I like the TV ticker best, the different colors of the new one look odd with the color palette.

From what I’ve been told Telemundo likes to dabble in VR. Al Rojo Vivo I think initially when they moved to the Telemundo Center they rebuilt the set I believe the large curved wall for ARV in the home shot is a green screen as was the corner where the host would sit at a see through table.

I like this. It’s unique and they differed from the first Hearst HD package. However I am surprised that this was 2013 and they didn’t get the diagrid 1.0 before the Olympics.

I mean we can tell it looks virtual and kudos for them for making the reflections on the anchor desk. The few changes I’d make is that it appears the larger desk that is rarely used was either scanned in or added in virtually. Second, in lieu JDB sitting at what I assume is the small desk of 1A which may be keyed in, I’d remove it and ad a physical desk where they could zoom out from. Then maybe make it where the desk in front of the wall can be removed, and maybe add some dynamic lighting. I did find it interesting that for the most part they kept the studio as is as opposed to cleaning it up. One example is the video wall that’s used for OTS and on Today weather. They kept the seams in the metal that are there in real life.

Some other clips from this week. amd a clip from the FBI Academy! Oh here’s a true Baltimore thing. The city puts salt boxes out for people to get salt for the winter. This winter they allowed people to paint them. So someone drew Stan on it. The story from WBAL with additional photos and videos..

NewscastStudio tweeted out that it was known as Look S about two hours before it’s name was known in this thread. So this time they didn’t steal from us.

general thread NBC Sports/NBCSN/Golf Channel/NBC RSNs Thread
rkolsen replied to WCAUTVNBC10's topic in Sport Center
Generally takes a few months or even a year for the graphics to reach the RSNs. -
I shudder to think of the picture quality on that channel.
