The hack occured Wednesday night French time and it took them three hours to get back on air. TV5s social media and websites were down for atleast eight hours. I assume they way they took over the broadcast operations was by attacking the playout automation. This makes me wonder what will happen when broadcasters replace baseband equipment with all IP infrastructure.
