j.wer 12 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Haven't seen him in weeks? Vacation or reorganization?
JoseRM303 171 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 His Sunday Morning show ended a few months back and he now anchors at 5:30pm Monday - Friday and noon on Thursdays and Fridays. Rob Schmitt took his place on the weekends and continues to anchor the noon Monday - Wednesday.
NYNews 54 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Rob has got the looks, but his presentation needs improvement. I think WNBC has been quite patient with him. He should have started on the weekends. David is by far a better anchor and should have gotten the weekday spot in the first place.
anchorman 96 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 You're right Rob has got the looks. But he has no place anchoring in the #1 market.
TellyGenic 33 Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 David filled in for Chuck on the 11 pm newscast on Monday. Rob had done that several days last week as well as his weekend shifts.
jtgh922 18 Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Seems like WNBC is finally starting to prepare for Chuck Scarborough's retirement, whenever that maybe. They seem to be focusing on David Ushery and Rob Schmitt. Every time Chuck has been off the past few months, its been one of them filling in, with Gus Rosendale only used sparingly.
B2r4a6n 103 Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 In D.C. Jim Vance is now only doing 6pm in preparation for his retirement in a couple of years... I wonder if that's what they'll do with Chuck, ease him off by having him only do one newscast...They did that with Sue Simmons her last couple of years, she only did 11pm.
