rkolsen 1685
There have been rumors of a shake up at ITV News for a while and today they came to fruition. Tom Bradby who for the last ten years has been ITV's political editor (and is a screen writer) was named the main anchor presenter of ITV's flagship broadcast, ITV News at 10. Tom has spent 25 years with ITV News where he has previously been their UK editor and as a correspondent covering the Royal Family, Ireland and Asia. Tom will be presenting solo replacing co-presenters Mark Austin and Julie Etchingham who have been with the program since 2008. Mark Austin will now be co presenting the ITV's 6:30 newscast with Mary Nightingale. Julie Etchingham will still have a role with the program likely as a relief presenter. He is expected to start presenting the news sometime this autumn. Most recently Tom Bradby was the main presenter during UK's 2015 General Election coverage presenting from 10PM at night through 6AM the next morning. At 6AM he briefly went off the air while he was traveling to the Good Morning Britain studios. While I was watching their UK election coverage Tom seemed to know his stuff. Some commenters online thought his election night coverage was a bit boring but I felt other wise. Then again I am a bit of a wonk and love "inside politics". http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-33273440 http://www.itv.com/presscentre/press-releases/itv-news-announces-changes-award-winning-presenter-line Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/14481-itv-news-10-shake-up-tom-bradby-named-anchor/ Share on other sites

Plus, the first time since 2008 that ITV's News at 10:00 will be solo anchored, as it has been for decades before 1999 and again from 2001-2004.
