Top story on WPLG's website:

MIAMI / FORT LAUDERDALE -

From the time you wake up to the time you go to bed, Local 10 is on the air bringing you live coverage of the stories that matter to you.

But unfortunately in just a matter of hours, some of our loyal viewers may lose our signal if a deal can't be reached with Dish Network.

Negotiations are ongoing between our parent company and Dish, but if a deal can't be reached, Local 10 may disappear at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22.

"Modern Family," "Grey's Anatomy," "black-ish," "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and the Local 10 News will soon go to black for Dish customers in South Florida. That means those families who are used to watching Local 10 on Dish won't be getting everything they're paying for.

The good news is you have options:

  1. Switch providers. Local 10 will still be on the air on DirecTV, Comcast xFinity, AT&T U-verse and other TV service providers.
  2. Watch us live on your computer or smart phone. All of our newscasts from 4:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. are streamed live on Local10.com and on our Local 10 news app, which you can get for free on your phone or tablet.
  3. Head to a store like Walmart, Target, or Best Buy and pick up an inexpensive antenna. We found some antennas for under $10. Then you can watch Local 10 and all your favorite ABC shows at no cost. You just have to plug the antenna into the back of your TV, then re-scan to find local channels.

You can also contact Dish Network to tell them you want to keep watching Local 10. We have multiple ways to contact Dish online, on the phone and on social media atwww.savemychannel.com/wplg.

but i thought wplg was sold by graham media? and buffett (berkshire hathaway) owns them

Yes they did. However, Graham Media Group is providing services and other stuff to WPLG 10 until next year, when the 2-year agreement is up. The agreement was created after the sale and official approval by the FCC and that took place last year. Once the 2-year agreement is up, WPLG 10 will be entirely BH Media owned and operated and will finally be separated from Graham Media Group's other stations.
