NewsMaster 226 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 KYTV (KY3) in Springfield, Missouri debuted its new set. Looks like they may have picked up new graphics as well.
tyrannical bastard 4036 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Good thing Schurz moved quickly to upgrade KY3 and WDBJ. These sets would have never happened under Gray.

But hey, this may now convince Gray to update sets at some of their stations. WSAW recently launched a new set and I think WIBW is one of them that probably needs a new one soon.

WIBW just got a new set a few years ago, highly unlikely that they'll get another one any time soon.
oklahomanewsman 210 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Set looks nice I noticed when I was up there in the summer yes they're still using paper scripts but they had laptops did they decide to just have paper scripts on the anchor desk? Just curious

Just curious Probably. I have bad news. KY3 is no longer using Millennium 3; they are now using SAM's This Is The Place, which means there are no more American television stations using a Shelly Palmer news package.

That's the worst thing I've ever heard since WAFB 9 and WTOC 11 dropped Newschannel!
Big Country News 435 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 KY3 is the first station to get a "New" Giant Octopus package since the company was bought by FX.
news89 468 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Ugh another great music package retired.

WSAW recently launched a new set and I think WIBW is one of them that probably needs a new one soon. WJRT's upcoming set is a step up for Gray. Even though WSAWs is good for its size, these Schurz sets are leaps and bounds ahead of what Gray has put out there...KY3s new set is like a larger, more refined version of WNDU's with much more of a larger market feel that rivals some of FXs marquee sets introduced over the years.
oklahomanewsman 210 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Ugh another great music package retired. It joins other great packages like Revolution (which is pretty much retired) and the KUSA Package by Third Street Music among others that have either pretty much retired or fully retired.
TSSZNews 1052 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 KY3 is the first station to get a "New" Giant Octopus package since the company was bought by FX. Ehhhhh I wouldn't say "new"--that looks like a refit of the WBNS work.
Hexagonal10 84 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Ehhhhh I wouldn't say "new"--that looks like a refit of the WBNS work. I've only seen the anchor backdrop, but that looks a tad bit like WBNS...
NEOMatrix 1307 Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Graphics look Scripps-like and there's elements of the WDBJ set for KYTV. Sad that Palmer is now extinct, though.
Sendir 194 Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Perfect set for that market. Great job KY3 management.
NewsMaster 226 Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 Sad that Palmer is now extinct, though. Palmer isn't completely dead. A television station in the Cayman Islands uses the Brave New World, along with a John Christopher Burns graphics package.
