  1. Alright I have a question: KOKH in Oklahoma City uses a different news music package for their opens and teases, but they still do use the 615 Music package for other things such as reopens and teases to weather and sports segments. But what music package KOKH uses for their opens and teases to commercial breaks (not the weather or sports segments but the teases to commercial breaks) they use?
  2. KOCO was going to go off of Cox just before the Oklahoma Sooners vs Ohio State Buckeyes game (on September 7th or 8th) but that's been resolved http://www.normantranscript.com/news/university_of_oklahoma/cox-koco-dispute-resolved/article_5983d26d-64cc-5235-a867-b68b17b530b6.html
  3. KHBS/KHOG is adding a weekend 5pm newscast on Saturdays and Sundays on their 2nd digital subchannel (also known as Arkansas CW) http://www.tvnewscheck.com/article/107324/arkansas-cw-launches-weekend-5-pm-news It'll launch this Saturday, September 23rd and it'll utilize the award-winning newsgathering resources from local ABC affiliate and sister station 40/29 TV, the 5:00 p.m. weekend newscast on The Arkansas CW will offer local viewers an additional option for coverage. 40/29 Weekend News at 5 p.m. on the Arkansas CW will feature familiar faces, including news anchor Allison Wise, weather with Taylor Pannell and Reese Miller with sports. Teams of field crews from across the entire region will cover important news and weather events from Fort Smith, The River Valley and all of Northwest Arkansas. Here's the statement from KHBS/KHOG President and General Manager Shaun Oswald: “We continue to be committed to localism and to serving our community on The Arkansas CW by providing local viewers our award-winning coverage at a time that is important to them, on Sept. 11, we expanded our morning news, 40/29 News Sunrise on The Arkansas CW at 7 am to an hour and we are excited to continue our expansion of our local news product into the weekends for the 5:00 p.m. time period.”
  4. Well that's a shocker, NOT! It's all copy and paste from the looks of things
  5. If that's the case I wonder which markets where both Sinclair and Tribune overlap could use Cunningham and/or Deerfield? My prediction for such markets to have sharing agreements would be any market outside of Seattle, Salt Lake City, Oklahoma City, NEPA and St. Louis (For example in Portland they could use Deerfield to run KRCW in Portland and perhaps Cunningham to run WXMI in West Michigan and so on and so forth). Harrisburg would be a toss up for me while both WHP and WPMT rank in the Top 4 the question is does the regulators feel that Sinclair has a case to use Deerfield/Cunningham to run WPMT? That decision is to be determined by antitrust regulators. (Same with any other market that Sinclair could try and use sidecards)
  6. KOAT switched over to "Image News" at the end of 1999 however... KOAT continued to use "One & Only" until sometime in 2000.
  7. Yes sir they did as a matter of fact if I remember correctly KOAT got rid of the camera madate around 2003 but kept "Image News" until KOAT got the Newsmusic Central package (initially with the WTNCF signature despite having the "Coverage You Can Count On" slogan until KOAT switched to the CYCCO signature in 2005. Also KOCO switched to the WTNCF signature for it's Opens and Talent Rejoins in 2010 but kept the "Live. Local. Late Breaking" signature for it's news closes until they got Strive in 2013.
  8. Nearly pure media, TEGNA still has a stake in CareerBuilder TEGNA has a stake in CareerBuilder along with The McCatchy Company and Tribune
  9. Salt Lake City (KUTV-KMYU-KJZZ and KSTU) Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (WOLF-WSWB-WQMY and WNEP) However, both of those markets, Sinclair uses their shell companies for at least one of the stations in the same market. Harrisburg and Richmond they can't form duopolies in both of those markets as they have too few full-power stations to permit legal duopolies (plus the top 4 market rule as well)
  10. I'm going to take a break from the site for a few days as I will be out of town on vacation for a few days see you on Wednesday, June 1st
  11. Lisa McRee's last newscast for WFAA in 1991 before she went on to co-anchor ABC's "Good Morning America"
  12. KFOR-TV intros since 2008: 2009: 2011: (The only change from 2009 to 2011 was "Chopper 4" was replaced by "Bob Moore Chopper 4" 2014: Brian Lee instead of saying "You're watching NewsChannel 4 at Ten" at that point says "You're watching NewsChannel 4 at Ten, The News Leader." 2016: 2017: New graphics plus KFOR went back to the "Oklahoma's NewsChannel 4" moniker that they used from 1997 until 2008
  13. I know KOCO has gone from these: To these: Nowadays I think Hearst has turned over whatever changes the stations make to the tunes of the current music, to the way the opens and talent rejoins animate and they can even change the look of the copyright bar (which was first introduced by WJCL in Savannah, GA after WJCL finally got the Hearst graphics/music package in 2015) but as far as the new theme music goes that's hubbed at WESH so I say Hearst has turned over all of the music/graphics responsibilities to the stations.
  14. The ONLY thing I've heard so far from the FCC regarding ownership is the possibility of a repeal of owning Newspapers and Televsion stations in a single market (which has been in effect since 1975)... for now! And what I mean by "for now" I mean the FCC may change ownership rules (that includes raising the cap) and they haven't even started reviewing the national ownership cap as of yet. Stay tuned y'all that's all I have to say about this
  15. I live in Oklahoma City (KOCO) and they debuted the Camera mandate when they updated it in 1998 (of course they went from "5 News" to "Eyewitness News 5" that year) and they kept it till 2005 and they continued to use "Revolution (a.k.a B Package) until 2005 when they finally switched to the NewsMusicCentral package. What's so strange about KOCO is they held on to the "Camera Graphics" and "B Package" until 2 years after WESH in Orlando were the first Hearst-owned station to debut that graphics/music package yet it only took 8 months before KOCO got the diagrid graphics and "Strive" in April 2013 (also they dropped the "Eyewitness News 5" moniker in favor of "KOCO 5 News" when they got the new graphics and music in 2013)
  16. I'm back after a week of being in the TVNT jail
  17. 1 confirmed fatality reported from the tornado that hit south of Elk City earlier today
  18. Hey JCB4TV could you see KFOR-KAUT get new music when they move into the new building or will they wait until they get "Scripp-tified" or "Raycom-ized"?
  19. KFOR-TV 10pm Intro (taken in 1998) KFOR-TV's promo for "WeatherSchool" (also in 1998)
  20. Significant damage in South Elk City
  21. That's a shame, hopefully someone will fill in the hole that 6NEWS left behind for the Lawrence area
  22. Hope everyone stays safe in these large violent tornadoes today
  23. http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/5/16/pushed-out-in-denver Ed Greene, the longest-serving weather forecaster in Denver, is being kicked to the curb at KCNC. The Denver Post says that the station will not be renewing Greene’s contract as senior weather forecaster. Over the next six months, Lauren Whitney will be phased in to the evening newscasts in his place. The move is not his decision, Greene said. “I guess management is ‘going in a new direction?’ ” Greene said in a frank email. “I did not ask for ‘more time to spend with the grandkids’ (don’t have any, yet), or to spend more time at our home in Santa Fe (wife still busier than ever with her business … and we still have a student up at CU).” Greene will become a part-time contributor at the station, doing fill-in work and representing the station at community events.
  24. Then tell some people who still say that Sinclair will do this/that to stop that, then I won't have to repeat myself this. Been trying to tell them that I don't know how many times and some how and some way it's fallen on deaf ears
  25. Like in Oklahoma City, the DOJ/FCC will not allow Sinclair to form a triopoly between KOMO and KCPQ/KZJO
