Did you know that a cut of Flashpoint can also be heard in the Tribune Broadcasting ID at the end of KTLA's newscasts all the way until 2011? Links: https://goo.gl/5Hf5Wn and https://goo.gl/aAnKrf. It sounds similar to the end of the Flashpoint cut heard at this link: https://goo.gl/FDleBK

I know other Tribune stations (such as WPIX, WGN, KTXL, WXIN, and WGNO) used to use these IDs, but just without that music.

About what? Anything coming out of the Tribune camp will be sale-related. Things should be pretty quiet and stagnant, otherwise.

It's not all that surprising for a TV station to keep using a cut of music from a package they dropped years earlier. WITI was regularly using (and might still be infrequently using) cuts of Magnum right up until the end of the FOX O&O theme era. WTMJ would sometimes use Impact v.4 for the prime time lineup graphic up until they adopted Inergy.

 

That kind of stuff is so irrelevant that it's really only worthy of a Shoutbox post. Closing this thread until the day the Tribune/Sinclair deal is called off.
