WNYW is now called NYWEATHER AUTHORTY and they changed the backgrounds to match SkyGuardian. Fox 5 News talked about SkyGuardian all day Yesterday. What do you guys think about SkyGuardian. Its really all the same thing, its just their way of trying to get more viewers, kinda like ABC 7's Accu-Track or NBC 4's Nexrad or CBS 2's Doppler 2 Million. They are all weather gimmicks, and they really shouldn't be taken too seriously. Its good that they have something better at Fox 5, but its really nothing to go wild about... username23 1 Posted July 18, 2007 Share Posted July 18, 2007 They did a horrendous job on the promos for it, first off the "super monitoring stations across the country" are the FOX O&O affiliates (notice how they strategically leave off the 9 o&o's that are currently up for sale on the map), second the voice over guy is horrible, they should have stuck with Greg O'Neill who does the openings now for all FOX News in-house stuff or gone back to Scott Chapin (who did the old openings). Third, the whole pulling out the 5-day forecast thing makes it look like the headless weatherman is giving the weather, great for Halloween, not great for a promo. Hey Leone (G.M.), here's a solution,... why don't you try and do real news for once and then you might get some real ratings. Because you're not fooling anyone with that crap you put on now.
