CBS 2 boss Joe Ahern: Game Over?

I actually have this up on another message board I frequent as well, but hopefully it'll get more bites here. At least it'll live longer :p...

I believe Mr. Ahern's contract is just about up. Any word on his future as GM?

The new building will be ready next year so I'm thinking he'll at least oversee the transition. But beyond that? Or is now the time?

I'm actually hoping he'll keep on. Aside from weeknights, I now feel he's put together some pretty strong, solid teams. Mornings are great (Ed Curran notwithstanding) and Jim & Alita on the weekends are top-notch.

I dig the logo, the website is hands down the best tv news website in the city, and overall the station at least acts like much more of a contender now than it did before he arrived (even if ratings are dismal).

He's done a lot to improve reception problems (even if they're still there) and granted, they need a new set, but that'll come with their new building (another credit to Joe).

I know some numbers ARE up, mornings for example, and I feel another shake-up is the last thing the station needs right now (except for evenings of course). But for the most part, stay the course. Time can have a desired affect on the viewer. I now know that firsthand.

Carol Fowler and Ahern should both go. Lets not forget, Fowler was the knucklehead who approved the airing of the Amy Jacobson video. CBS2 is unwatchable; period.

Unwatchable due to Diann Burns. And Fowler did a great decision on the airing of the Amy Jacobson tape.
