Eat News 4745
This is a 1948 look at the first CBS News set. That's Douglas Edwards who would have been about 98 years old this year. A desk... A monitor and big desk mic...Western Electric 639B ribbon mic. ...and an Underwood on a classic stand. Some of you may have to google Underwood. Later on... 10Viewer 334
I like that much better than the CBS Evening News set they used from 1991-96. That was one weird set. ToriElectra 292
I like that much better than the CBS Evening News set they used from 1991-96. That was one weird set. That set dated back to 1987-- it was even weirder then, they had these giant glass panel partition things in the back for some reason. 10Viewer 334
At first, I think they had some of the newsroom behind Dan. But by 1993, the backdrop had a giant world map stage left and a bank of monitors stage right. That was it. And talk about the awful chemistry between Rather and Chung. No wonder CBS dropped to a distant third. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/16340-the-very-first-cbs-news-set/#findComment-198681 Share on other sites
