MetroCity 247
They’re only summer replacements. Neither is on the fall schedule. https://deadline.com/2018-19-abc-schedule/ Could either be a summer replacement again next year? I doubt anybody should bet a paycheck on that. rkolsen 1679
If they wanted to go down a route to bring GMA into the ABC News footprint, they can always move any editorial staff/back-office functions to the new facility. ESPN's NYC studio for Get Up! + NBA Coverage doesn't have a control room on-site (Bristol + LA, respectively) - they could always fibre the GMA studio cameras to 4 Hudson Square and leave the site as a pure remote studio with a good amount of cameras outputs and drops if they really wanted and permit select staff and talent work exclusively out of Times Square. There’s a control room on site. I think two. But I imagine ESPN wanted too keep costs down by doing at home production and keeping their workflows largely the same. Take that vs working around a completely different setup and likely older equipment. http://www.abctvcenter.com/marquee.html Edit: I didn’t realize they were completely seperate spaces. They've been summer replacements every summer since 2016.
