C Block 1573 Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 For quite some time, two of the Denver stations would close newscasts with "salutes," where they sent a photog to a particular place to shoot people either doing a #1 (KUSA) or thumbs up (KCNC). It was a staple of weekend newscasts, and they'd do it during the week sometimes too. KUSA did it going well into the mid-2000s, and they always had the better music. Are these these the only two stations that did it, or were there others? It seems like such a quaint thing to do looking at it now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=epnhz_oscLc;t=167
Georgie56 3333 Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 KJRH would have people throwing up peace signs (probably to represent the number 2) for closes in 2004. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=DEFtQGxUtUA;t=1301
