Except in small markets they’ll let that pass. I’m shocked to see it in New York with that Fox weather presenter at WNYW. On the contrary... you can be a street reporter turned long term fill in with a 12 credit hour weather certificate from Penn State and get stuck on the air during a tornado warning. Then a month later you do sports when the main sports guy leaves and find time to report in between in market 14. True story. Edited May 17 by ns8401
PlayPal 4 Posted June 24 Posted June 24 FTVlive is reporting that Leticia Juárez is out at ABC7 and not because of cost cutting. Anyone have deets on what happened?
Encore 323 90 Posted Tuesday at 06:38 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:38 PM With a heatwave coming to Southern California, KABC has decided to launch something called “Weather Change Alerts” and I guess anytime the weather makes a sudden change, they will issue this alert. It seems like they are trying to rip off CBS LA and their “Next Weather Alerts” but hopefully KABC is truly doing this for the benefit of the viewer and not just because another station in town is doing something similar. 1

There's no reason it can't be for both reasons.

I get your point but a news leader is supposed to lead and be innovative, not follow others, but sometimes you have to look at what the competition is doing and sometimes they lead in things that the undisputed news leader in Southern California hasn’t fully catched on with. I don’t fully agree with the decision making of KABC in this case but I understand why they are doing it, and that is the bottom line. Edited 1 hour ago by Encore 323
