WBBM-Style Graphics on WCBS

I just caught promo for CBS 2 News Saturday Morning that used a different look than the yellow/orange one that's been in use for the past month or so. Now it looks much more similar to WBBM's in that there's a lot of plain blue and white. The eye-2 logo itself is just white with a white border and the rest is completely transparent. It ended with the CBS 2 News logo in front of the white photo shoot studio with the umbrella (the one that Maurice and Kate's new promos take place in).

 

I'm doubting that this is a sign of any more changes to the newscast graphics. It looks like it's just a new look for the promos, maybe only for the weekend morning promos.

The plain blue graphics don't bother me as much anymore. That darn transparent bug is just awful to have.

i saw this about wednesday or thursday and i think it is meant to look like the maurice/kate promo, and was likely shot at the same time. it isn't just for the weekend morning, as the one for the weekday shows is the exact same, except for the fact they have kate next to a big text on the screen that says "metro traffic" and maurice next to the weather channel bug.

 

it is mainly just a new theme for the yellow ones, plus some cheezy effects like the way the text comes on to the bottom.

 

i think yellow is better for mornings, although these white/blue things are nice. much nicer than their graphics. and yes, that bug (all of it, the box around it and the transparent-ness, and the fact that it doesn't become a different color when the blue on the L3 comes on.

 

 

i think the morning news is peter dunn's current mission, similar to how the early show is cbs news' current mission.
