reig6686 0 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 I know this has been discussed in the NY thread, but what does everyone think the chances are of Bolaris returning to Philly? And if he does return, where could he end up?

And if he does return, where could he end up? Chances are great. Timing would be perfect. And he'll do it in a return to NBC 10 and EarthWatch.
FJ2000 5 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Also, you'll have to consider CBS 3 has an opening with the weekend slot open. My strategy: I could see them regulating Tom Lamaine back to weekend evenings. But John Bolaris on at noon and 6pm. And make him report from significant weather events around the country for the newscasts. It could work.

It has been mentioned earlier that they won't be filling Tomlin's spot since his hiatus is only temporary. Secondly, Bolaris is prolly only gonna want to do primetime newscasts (6-11). He's not going to want to do noon, esp if he's going to be commuting to and from NY. Thirdly, I've never been a huge fan of local stations sending personalities all over the country to cover national stories when they have national affiliate services to do it for them. It's just dumb and it makes you look like you're just going after ratings. Also esp in weather events, if you have all of these out of market stations converging on one weather story, it turns into a circus and just makes matters worse.
nigelbruce 0 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Managers at Channel 3 have no interest in Bolaris. But --- they would very likely make a move for Doug Kammerer, if he comes into play.
