C Block 1566 Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 I'm wondering if some of the other TV freaks on here could help me out. Is anyone aware of previous attempts to create some sort of pan-Californian news channel? The only thing I could think of was when NBC tried California Nonstop, but that never fully got off the ground.

There's too many dissimilar areas in California to launch a news channel. Even if they did, it's wouldn't have the viewing capacity unless it was an indie owned channel.
polyiguana 24 Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 The only one I could see would be the cable nets sharing, but Comcast seems to have no interest in doing news, and while Spectrum News 1 LA has hired a lot of PBSers and other serious journalists, they don't seem to be getting much traction.
