WJBF Getting New Set

One of the anchors posted on FB showing the lights being turned out on the current set. It looks like Nexstar is going to give them a new set. I'm assuming graphics will stay the same considering it a was a fairly recent change.

Their current set is basically the same FX one all the Media General stations had in the 2000s, except built new again with Television Park 2.0?

I have it on good authority that the wall separating the WJBF studio and the former WAGT studio will come down. This means the new studio will be about 70% larger post renovation.

Knowing Nexstar, they will look to utilize every corner ...... I mean, every square inch of the expanded studio space they can to maximize its usage.

It will happen Monday Sept. 13 at 4 PM ET. Saw it on an anchor's FB page.

Interesting a station in Augusta, GA would get the same treatment as a station in San Francisco, California.

Probably monitors considering they are a Nexstar station. WFLA and KRON also have a similar background.

Pictures taken from Anchors Renetta Dubose, Shawn Cabbagestalk, and Jenna Petracci's FB pages. Looks like they did a soft launch of the set this weekend. Incredibly impressive for the Augusta market, to say the least. Cookie cutter set or not, Augusta viewers will be impressed. 

Also an incredible advancement for WJBF and amazing when you look at what they were broadcasting from just 18 or so years ago. (even though the vid is dated 2002, This set at their former home of 1001 Reynolds lasted until 2004)

Really liking the new set. This proves how the Lance Schroeder-led Nexstar design team has learned from the FX sets and improved to do more professional set designs which clearly are miles away from the infamous Dalek Desk designs, and more in-line with other videowall-led sets. I hope this will be the case with other sets being designed by them (except for many of the sets for the bigger markets, which are being mostly outsourced to FX).

I am very impressed with this set. This far exceeds the new set at WRDW. Certainly doesn't look like something you'd find in the Augusta market.

Wow, thanks for posting the link. It does look much better and it looks like they have some robotic pedestals too. 

Actually, I saw a video posted that they have gone to full robotic pedestals that can move around the studio. Pretty impressive for that market.
