cbs2news 0
Here's WCBS promo from 1999 the address is CBS 2. Stephen Clark, Dana Tyler, Jim Rosenfield, Lisa Hill, Mark Danon and Warner Wolf are feaured in the promo. That period from 1997-2002 was CBS 2 at it's best. That's when I started watching CBS 2. abc7 Man 47
I remember the virtual studio. This was the only time where I watched CBS2 and ABC7 equally. I liked the music, graphics and studio. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHLQDdHE9rU Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/1916-the-address-is-cbs-2-promo/#findComment-18174 Share on other sites
moshewx 19
WCBS was at its best during the Ernie Anastos, Michele Marsh and Carol Martin era. Remember "The First Team" and because "Anything can happen in New York"? Why were they the best back then? Real newscast, not infotainment, and decent ratings. showdown 0
So given the current management team and climate at CBS 2, how long before David Friend (ND) and Peter Dunn (GM) get canned and they bring in a new management team to blow it up once again??? I say less than a year at most? Your thoughts? Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/1916-the-address-is-cbs-2-promo/#findComment-18180 Share on other sites
cbs2idiots 24
So given the current management team and climate at CBS 2, how long before David Friend (ND) and Peter Dunn (GM) get canned and they bring in a new management team to blow it up once again??? I say less than a year at most? Your thoughts? I give it until next year for Dunn and Friend to be done. Then they will hire a new management who think they can save CBS2. In all honesty Joel Cheatwood, Lew Leone/Diane Doctor, Dunn/Friend are all the same (They are idiots). The management after Dunn and Friend wont be better either. What I dont understand is that when a new management that takes over CBS2, they dont focus on improving the quality of the newscasts, their first intial move is to do an anchor shake up. These idiots fail to realize that the previous management as done the same thing for the past 10 years and it did not work. Remember "The First Team" and because "Anything can happen in New York"? Why were they the best back then? Real newscast, not infotainment, and decent ratings. Unfortunately the didn't had decent ratings. And to answer CBS2Idiots, I think it might be too early to critize a possible new management team for WCBS. CBS should at least send their candidates to replace Dunn/Friend to KCBS and KPIX. KCBS & KPIX are indeed truly well managed CBS Stations. Blargh 2
That promo is delightfully cheesy. You just made my day. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/1916-the-address-is-cbs-2-promo/#findComment-18334 Share on other sites
qwertywcbs 0
Haven't you guys learned anything? WCBS management teams last in three to four year terms. Dianne Doctor... 3.7 Lew Leone... 3 Joel Cheatwood... 3 the typical is 3. Dunn is close to finished... he will be celebrating two years soon. Friend is only celebrating one.
