WDRB New Set

According to one of the anchors, WDRB in Louisville is getting a new set. This set was built in 2014. IMO, it aged really well, and despite the age, it still looks better than the other sets in the market.

I can only assume the contract with whichever companies are designing/building the set was signed before the sale and likely merger with WAVE was announced.

Clearly, which is going to make things very interesting once the Gray acquisition is done. 

 

The set has aged pretty well though. WHAS desperately needs refurbished...

The existing set looks better than the ones that many of the Gray stations got in the ensuing years.  Especially the ones that got stuck with the "gray-hound" bus station look.

The only changes made to the set was a new anchor desk and large video wall behind the anchors. The weather center remains the same.

"New set" did some heavy lifting lol. The desk is certainly an improvement. Video wall seems a little out of place now since it's clearly placed more forward than the actual set walls. Weather center seems underlit now.

I wonder if those at WAVE realize that could be where they end up eventually? After all, WDRB has a much better studio right now.

You know what's sad? This looks better than the new set that KMGH got in their new building when they previously had this set.

 

Also, I will say that the anchor desk seems very European and I think that's due to the curved lines.
