tyrannical bastard 4676 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I know voices change over time, usually with age. But with Paul Turner, his delivery has totally changed in the last 30 years. What was once a very serious and strong voice has evolved into an overly enthusiastic and over-the-top delivery no matter the subject. It's very apparent across his station clients (primarily the old West Virginia Media stations under Nexstar) and his Learfield Sports clients like Alabama. I know the adage for a voice client is to give the station what it wants (someone probably complained about his old-style of delivery) but the new style has seemed to stick. I guess it doesn't work for all of the sales tie-ins that have invaded local TV...
mouseboy33 137 Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Paul Turner has done the voice over for a famous British radio DJ, Chris Moyles since the mid 90s and he sounds exactly the same and he is a integral part of the DJ's show over all these years. Moving from the BBC and then Global Radio's RadioX, Pauls voice continues is a familiar voice heard for decades on British AM Radio.
ekt8750 64 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) He's also the VO guy for his hometown Philadelphia Eagles' Radio Network. Maybe our recent success has lightened him up lol Edited January 23 by ekt8750
