Fine they kept their signature music. But you can see these things are churned out and sloppily at that. Its barely timed correctly to the music to hit at beat and then the cheap fade to the studio. The only element seemingly timed correctly is the little flashing box next to the logo. Lame.

Ewwww. I gotta brush. I just threw up in my mouth. All of that is horrible. Who is creating this garbage. NONSTOP LOCAL PULSE PRIME @ 9pm. Could the title be any longer. AND THOSE ARE NEW GRAPHICS!? I thought it was early 00's. What utter tripe. Everything about this newscast is awful.

What is actually happening? Who cares that we are seeing his office or Anderson has some Mics on the desk?! Talk about a rudderless ship. Is someone doing this on purpose to CNN? It seems like self-sabotage. Im confused. I still would rather watch CNN if I had to ( though I preferred CNN international, until they basically let everyone go and people just left and they never re-hired anyone.) but the channel is effectively a mere shadow of its former self. CNN International still does some news broadcasts instead of endless talking head "analyst" shows rather than actual news. But this "podcasty" move on CNN domestic is just silly, performative and pointless. Its so sad to see. Particularly when they formerly commanded a massive huge news room at the CNN Center and then a sister channel that never stopped in Headline News. Which was operating at just delivering the news headlines nonstop. CNN Domestic its just bored-looking over paid anchors in front of screens in flash cam studios conducting sleep inducing interviews. What happened?! (My views have nothing to do with politics) Its just so sad. It just to be the globally respected news channel. When they are on they do great work. It used to be the go to channel for breaking news....those days are over. (Because everything is branded as breaking news) CNN international also had a massive news room on display in Atlanta, London and in Hong Kong with dedicated blocks of news and reports from all corners of the globe. Now its just a collection of flash cam screens. Does any one actually work there anymore besides those doing politics? Doesnt seem that way. Today they have basically neglected the entire Southern Hemisphere and you rarely get any news out of Africa or Asia unless is something about China censoring them live by shutting off their signal. We've seen it a billion times already. Really no interesting reports and its become US domestic politics heavy. Yawn. I find myself turning to SkyNews, BBC, AlJazeera, France 24, CBC. Other global broadcasters that have effectively taken what CNN International used to do and replaced them. There are so many channels that now have filled the space left by Headline News. Not sure why Headline News couldnt have made it work. Oh I remember.... they kept tinkering with it to death and people stopped watching. Now we have ABC News Live, CBS 24/7, NBC News Now, Scripps News and NewsNation amongst many others also internationally running headline services. And all of which came on the scene after they made a mess of Headline News. Those competitors are some how profitable. Now CNN is trying to rebuild that legacy by creating the CNN Headlines FAST channel. Which is a dire attempt to say the least. Its so sad to watch.

Was Luke Russert actually any good or is this Nepo-baby stuff? Really his own show? Hmmm. I never saw the appeal. If we are going the Nepo-baby route, lets get Ronan Farrow back on air instead of Luke. But he got burned before I doubt he'd come back to telly.

Interesting.

That was a brilliant use of their entire broadcast area. The newsroom the set and other areas. It was great idea. It wasnt perfect. There were issues. But overall it was new and fresh. I wish they did a regular newscast from the newsroom. Debriefing the reporters from their desks rather than be hermetically sealed in the studio. YOu can see how the area was set up for these types of broadcasts. But the cameras werent balanced because the lighting was clearly differently depending on which camera was being used. But I still think that the newscast from the newsroom WGN did with Mark Suppelsa and Lourdes Duarte was probably the best version. It was properly formatted and the camera work was nicely done. Not too much bouncing around. I would appreciate more of this, as it could be point of difference for Ch5. But they messed up with that new announcer they picked and that "next generation newsroom" line and I hate their theme music. I like how WNBC says "From Studio XX from Rockefeller Plaza this NBC 4 NY." WMAQ needs to go back to just highlighting NBC Tower. Prefer theme versions used by WNBC and KNBC. WMAQ usually uses the worst cuts of those themes. But creatively this was a valiant effort by WMAQ in their new space.

ABC 7 Eyewitness News thread

Huh? I find news sets discussion interesting. -
It feels nasty to have it part of the open. I think it wouldnt be so bad it if had a small opening that says "the following broadcast is brought to by ________ . Fade to black or a flash. Then the opening graphics run". To be so deeply intergrated into the open always feels nasty to me. But these days. Most things in local news feels like a downgrade.

Very odd by diluting your main branding. Weird.

Univision station studio updates for N+ Univision branding

the set was awful before. It looks even worse now. And the newsroom looks like a black hole. just awful. -
Paul Turner has done the voice over for a famous British radio DJ, Chris Moyles since the mid 90s and he sounds exactly the same and he is a integral part of the DJ's show over all these years. Moving from the BBC and then Global Radio's RadioX, Pauls voice continues is a familiar voice heard for decades on British AM Radio.

Canadian media is really faltering. Sad to see.

Having seen the entire graphics package and the sets for MsNOW. It was a lost opportunity to do something new and fresh. But instead same old same old. I knew it wasnt going to be anything fresh when I saw that (Youtube/FAST start up opinion channel" style logo. They claimed they were now unrestrained by NBC News and had more freedom to do what they want. Well it seems they didnt know how to exercise this new found freedom. Certainly was a lost opportunity. Boring graphic layout. Clunky. As much as I didnt like SkyNews Graphics completely they have grown on me. They are well thought out and clean. And have proven to be dynamic and have been given more dynamic refresh recently. They could have done something a bit like SkyNews or something. I thought MsNow would have done something more different. Yawn. And dont get me started on the awful set graphics. Horrible. ITs seems like they used all the ideas so it just looks messy. (and yes I know the sets are temporary) But they couuld have really made themselves looks completely different than anything seen on US telly. Ohh Well.

Im sure its mentioned somewhere here. Alex Thomas formerly of CNN International sport , is now at Sky News Australia presenting the news. Sky News Australia is similar to Fox News in the US. Seems like there is a concerted effort to slowly shut down CNN International. There is basically no one there.
