former newsboy 52 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Phil Rosenthal writes all about Allison today and tels us she says she'll be back on the air Monday. Glad to hear she's doing better, but as much as I don't care for Diann Burns, I was actually thinking she'd be a perfect fit on WGN News at 9 with Steve Sanders, Tom Skilling, and Dan Roan. And so would Mary Ann Childers, but in my world she gets hired back at Channel 2 as main anchor. I'm still in denial about Alita Guillen too, not to mention Randy Salerno - I need help. Spring Rubber 725 Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 I noticed that Tom Skilling sits with the rest of the team at the end of the 9 o'clock news again now that Allison's back. Did he not sit with them while Allison was ill as a sort of symbol that all was not well with the news team?
NBC 5 Chicago 196 Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 No it happened when they started doing the 7day forecast at 9:45 instead of at the very end. So Tom wouldnt end up with them at the end. Its been awhile since iv seen a 9pm newscast im always working.

Spring Rubber 725 Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 I watched again tonight, and they had Tom sitting at the desk throughout the entire Sports segment, including when they first introduced Rich King (they used a 4-person shot even for this).
