ChoprHopr 0
Still some people out there confused on REAL HD broadcasting and SD to HD “up-convert” broadcasting. The 3 dozen or so stations (with possibly 2 or 3 additions nationwide) from the zas1977 post of the Broadcasting and Cable article are currently THE ONLY stations in the U.S. that are actually broadcasting newscasts in HD. There are MANY stations in MANY markets that are currently simulcasting their SD programming “up-converted” in HD and have been for years. For the issue and question at hand, this DOES NOT constitutes a station broadcasting in HD. Some may argue further that the stations on the list are not truly HD because some of the ENG field video and outside “source” video is not actually HD but in fact up-converted from SD. But that’s another argument for another day. As is the analog-digital issue which is a whole different story.
Neilium 0
KSL-Salt Lake City KSL does news in standard definition widescreen, not high definition. KSL is HD the last time I checked. Watched in OTA last night at 10 in HD.
