I know it's WNYW, but still they're not just cutting to ol' plastic face without fading the theme.

What that's supposed to imply is a mystery to me. But then again, this is probably why a local news open should ALWAYS use shots of images/video from the market they serve.

For those that haven't figured it out yet:

 

WNYW's logo in the open animates into it's bug. What happened here is some idiot spliced together the open and a piece of random footage later in the newscast. Some ways you can tell this is:

 

-Look at another WNYW open.

-Notice the time on the bug, 10:14. The news doesn't start at 10:14.

-The music abrubtly ends when the studio video starts. No audioboard operators can do that, ever.
