According to the San Diego Union Tribune and SDRADIO.net

Kathleen Bade, who vanished from KFMB back in late 2007 is coming back on the airwaves and will be anchoring the FOX 5 News at Ten

and the Morning News will be anchored by former CNN and FOX News Personality Arthel Neville.

There is no word yet on the fate of XETV's local programming or CW Network programming now airing on KSWB.

Last flight for Kimberly King who will be sitting in NewsChopper 7/39 for the last time tomorrow. Thursday afternoon will be her last day doing Traffic after 11 years. Still No word for a Traffic replacement or if there will ever be one.

Lorrie Jordan has already taken over for Kimberly on Streetside San Diego (a morning talkshow produced by KNSD friday mornings at 11am since KNSD dropped the 10am newscast when Today extended to 4 hours. Paid Programming or reruns of Access Hollywood fill in the 11am spot Mon-Thurs) when she and Jason switched Traffic shifts. (kimberly in the afternoon and jason in the mornings)

Jason Austell who was the Morning Traffic Reporter is now Anchoring along with Marianne Kushi since Bill Menish Left. Looks like KNSD is phasing out on Traffic Talent or NBC cuts?

Maybe Jason will go back to afternoons since he was no stranger to Afternoon Traffic after coming from KFMB where he helped launched "Chopper 8" back in 1996. KGTV was the only SKY1O covering san Diego from the air. Followed by Chopper8 and NewsChopper 7/39 few months later after being purchased from NBC from New World Communications

I was a big fan of Arthel back when she hosted "TalkBack Live" on CNN. She really got the audience involved and knew her stuff. I got to meet her after the show in the summer of 2002 and she was very nice. Best of luck to her!

Will Kathleen have a co-anchor or is she solo? What happens to Vic Salazar in all of this?

no word if Kathleen is flying solo for an hour or will have another anchor. You can still see Vic Salazar reporting or fbeing a fill in anchor on KNSD because KNSD produces KSWB's News at Ten after KSWB closed its in-house newscast back in 2005 during the Tribune Budget cuts. KNSD's sister station WCAU in Philly, produces a newscast for WPHL (MyNetworkTV) as well as WTVJ producing for WBZL (CW)

Maybe now that KNSD didnt renew its contract with KSWB, Hopefully Vic will go back to anchoring weekends at NBC7/39 and KNSD will revive its 6pm weekend newscast? It sucks how KNSD only has news in the morning at 7am on the weekends and you gotta wait til 11pm for its other newscast. Especially for an O&O station too.

Kathleen most likely will be paired up with someone. Rumors were flying that Heather Myers might move over to KSWB. This is good news, since I'm a really big fan of Kathleen Bade. Arthel is good too, I liked her when she was on Good Day Live.

Arthel Neville....that's a relatively big name.

Vo2: San Diego

VSN:SAN DIEGO!!!

[Anyone seen the 3rd Rock SuperBowl episode, would get the joke!]

Great to see Kathleen Bade will be back in action. As for co-anchor, I think Heather Myers is solid and would like to see her move over. I would also like to see Aloha Taylor and CS Keys move over. The just seem like naturals when they are on the air.

As for the morning news.....changes definitley need to be made. The anchors they have now just do not do it for me. Chrissy Russo is great eye candy but her weather and traffic reports are just not up to par. I would like to see them keep Renee Kohn and move her to morning weather. She is solid and has great delivery.

As for reporters, I would like to see the following stay: John Mattes, Jenny Hamel and Lynn Stuart.

Any idea as to when they might be announcing the rest of the news staff?

Hopefully they'll announce the rest of the staff soon.

Just because KSWB is assuming the Fox affiliation soon, I don't think Tribune shouldn't be obligated to salvage XETV's news personalities. I wouldn't be surprised if none of the XETV anchors or reporters get jobs at KSWB. It happens..

Arthel is a pretty big name here in SoCal. In the 90's she hosted a short-lived talk show with KNBC sportscaster Fred Roggin on KNBC...and then of course, we all know about Good Day Live. Good for Her and Good Sandy Aego.

Looks like another familiar face in San Diego will be making a return to the airwaves. Former KUSI morning anchor Susan Lennon will anchor the Weekend 10pm newscast. I'm just wondering when the new "FOX 5" will announce a male hire, it seems to be all women up to now (not that anything is wrong with that, just making an observation). More from SDradio.net...

Susan Lennon is definitely back, and I just posted a quick interview with her at my blog. Please click the link below to read it. Susan was always a class act in the rather vapid San Diego morning show marketplace (even more vapid these days) and she was sorely missed. With both her and Kathleen Bade signed up for the new Fox 5 News, I personally could care less who else they hire!

Well XETV won't get an affiliation. Could KUSI get the CW then? An ad said they will be San Diego's 6. Who knows what programming they will get. I could see KTLA piped in for Cable customers. CW may very well be a sub channel.

Just to add here....I was watching Fox 6's morning news, I want to say it was either Thursday or Friday, anyway, the new "Fox" aired a promo with Aloha Taylor. Apparently she is staying with Fox and will be the weather anchor.

I was stoked as she is a good talent to have in San Diego.

Just to make it clear, was this promo you saw was on XETV or KSWB?

Anyone know what happened to Chrissy Russo on Fox 6 News In The Morning and San Diego Living? She was on the air last week, now she's gone and erased from the Fox 6 website, too...

Well I think we all know the answer to that. She is moving to the brand spankin new FOX 5. It's only obvious. Funny how she was featured in the San Diego 6 promos, and kind of hypocritical to of XETV to say they will have the "Same great team" when A. they aren't even great and B. They will not have the same team. There were rumblings of Chrissy making the jump over to 5 several months ago, so this really isn't a surprise.
