Guest cfif Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 [YT]eUb3qUov8Hc[/YT] The WGN Morning News always seems to push the envelope -- too bad they don't show it nationally.
KRAP-TV 146 Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 The WGN Morning News always seems to push the envelope -- too bad they don't show it nationally. They have way too much fun on that show - I wish they would show it nationally!
kjohnson 17 Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 That's great! Totally needs to be aired nationally...
detroittv313 3 Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 That's great! Totally needs to be aired nationally... It's kind of ironic or favortism, I don't know what you call it. Both the 12pm and 9pm editions of WGN 9 News aired on WGN America nationally, but they never air WGN 9 Morning News on that network. All because of what they call "Syndex" rules. Yeah, right. If it no such thing as Syndex, WGN Morning News would have aired on WGN America by now.
detroittv313 3 Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 What I mean is this: WGN Morning News is aired on the local feed of WGN-TV and not the national feed on WGN America. As I mentioned in my last post, WGN America airs only the 12pm (1pmET) and 9pm (10pmET) editions of WGN 9 News. Which is why Tribune needs to air the morning news on WGN America rather on WGN.

So your saying they should move WGN 9 Morning News to WGN America and pull it off of WGN 9?
detroittv313 3 Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 No, WGN Morning News will still air on WGN, I meant that WGN America will simulcast it.
Ntropolis 599 Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Doesn't WGN have some kind of syndicated segment on their morning news that's protected under Syndex that prevents it from being shown nationally?
Mrtraveler01 738 Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Yes. What exactly is that out of curiosity?
lugnuts6 91 Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 let me guess... the so called syndicated segment that has silenced the WGN MORNING NEWS across the country on WGN AMERICA....only one man might be the cause...(dramatic pause for effect..) MR. FOOD!
CircleSeven 1960 Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 let me guess... the so called syndicated segment that has silenced the WGN MORNING NEWS across the country on WGN AMERICA....only one man might be the cause...(dramatic pause for effect..) MR. FOOD! Mr. Food is aired on WLS. WGN never had his segments. I assume it's their traffic segments during their morning newscast. But I think there something else, too.
NBC 5 Chicago 196 Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 What first caused it I belive was the Fresh Grocer segment (or something like that) that use to be on there. That segment is no longer on there but i think something else took its spot.
