Well, it took them a while, but WHP-TV CBS21 has new gfx tonight. And they look NICE.

Not sure if it is HD, but might be.

New look is online at whptv.com

Screen caps later tnte.

I knew one of the Central PA stations would go on the O&O music bandwagon sooner or later. Makes you wonder if the others stations will follow.

By the Way...The graphics are awesome, I'd have to admit.

You're right it does have that WPEC feel to it. Maybe Giant Octopus created these new graphics. Nonetheless, they look very good especially the new logo.

Fun fact: WTEV/WAWS in Jacksonville are using the same graphics now, when they went over to the Action News format.

Must have been a Clear Channel corporate buy.

It's Newport TV now, but same basic principle...

Well, Newport TV is just Clear Channel TV without Clear Channel owning it. Really not much difference there, unlike when Local TV was formed out of the New York Times stations division and went about the redefining local TV bit.

Will WHAM and WSYR get this?

Probably, if Newport TV is trying to go for a standardized look a la Blahnett, Sinclair, Media General, NBCU, and Raycom.

Well, see, there's a difference.

Action News is the format WPVI has used successfully for years, mostly because of its quick pace.

ACTION NEWS is the format that WOIO uses, in which every story either says something will kill you or that "yes, this station is badass" in some way.

Unfortunately, WTEV seems to be using ACTION NEWS and not Action News.

Yeah... I definitely got a WOIO vibe from this.

I thought this was the newscast style that was supposed to be going out the door... the format people have been getting tired of. What happened?
