A few old-school IB sites... are no longer old-school

I happened to notice that WISC's Iinternet Broadcasting-powered site has finally shed its old-school design for something newer. I like it!

Curiously, Meredith-owned WNEM has a similar-looking site... but the other Meredith-owned stations don't. Anyone know if all of Meredith's station sites are switching over? These sites are also similar to the current sites for the Cox and Post-Newsweek stations. Hmmm...

Wow, probably the nicest IBSYS look as of late. Now if we could just get WEWS to step out of 2004...

Can someone explain to me why WEWS still uses IBSYS while all of their sister Scripps stations use Inergize for their websites?

Heck, I've been wondering for a while now why that site hasn't made the jump to Inergize Digital with the rest of the Scripps stations' sites.

I live in Atlanta, and Meredith-owned CBS affiliate WGCL made the switch in 2007, as a test for other Meredith stations.

I think the Meredith stations will be switching... I've seen tv promos on WFSB saying they will have a new website coming soon.

Both WFSB and WSMV made the switch to the new layout as of today (with others to follow in the coming days/weeks). Unfortunately, the header on WFSB's site looks horrible to say the least.

Looks like they just need to ditch the blue background and it'll be fine.

I just noticed that all of the NBCU-owned Telemundo stations have new sites; last I checked, they still had the pre-2004 designs. This leaves WEWS as the only station to still have a pre-2004 IB site. What's the story here, Scripps?

So, how long until the sites for the Hearst and McGraw-Hill stations get redesigns? :)

Right now on WEWS's site, the left header graphic is "Click2Houston.com" and on their weather site, the left header graphic is "KOAT Albuquerque."

I'm seeing KIRO, WDIV, and a WFTV favicon... still means that something's up.

It seems to be going on with the other IBSYS websites too.

Well, it looks like the problems have since been fixed, and every site is back to normal as of this posting.

Technical difficulties much?

  • 2 weeks later...
  • 1 month later...

All of Meredith's stations [except the aforementioned WSHM] have moved to the new design as of at least a few weeks ago.

Meanwhile, I was poking around the IB site and discovered this press release about WISC's sister station, KXLY, moving to the IB platform. Curiously, Morgan Murphy Media's other stations are staying as-is, with WKBT on WorldNow and KAPP and KVEW on... whatever they're on. There's probably a financial reason for that.

Has anyone been able to figure out why WEWS' site is still using an old-school IB design?
