I thought I was hearing things the other day when Lonnie Quinn did the weather for the entire afternoon. The next day I heard John Elliot and Elise Finch. Is it a money saving move or are they just trying to get the most bang for their buck out of the people they already have on staff?

Weeters 1969 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 WTMJ-TV shares weather people with WTMJ-AM. Most of the time, the top-of-the-hour updates are pre-recorded so it's not like they have to be in a certain place at a certain time.

We record 9 :30 second weather hits each morning for our four radio partners, the whole process takes ten minutes each morning, same for the afternoon weather hits. It's great exposure, well worth the time.
Geoffrey 873 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 From what I can tell, three of the six weather updates every hour are live. So every 20 minutes from 10-4, the weather anchor has to be in place. I'm not sure if they reuse the recorded updates.
