Vlad 347 Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 According to TVSpy, Christiane Amanpour from CNN will be the new replacement for This Week, as George Stephanopolous left for GMA. She will leave CNN's Sunday Afternoon Program, called "Amanpour" and join ABC this late summer, just in the nick of time for the upcoming 2010 - 2011, TV season. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/19/business/media/19abc.html
cityprod 9 Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 That "Sunday afternoon programme" is a daily programme Internationally. CNN International will soon announce a replacement programme, which will end at the end of April.
C Block 1574 Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 CNN International will soon announce a replacement programme, which will end at the end of April. So, you're saying the replacement for Amanpour. ends in April? :bang: Seeing that Amanpour. was the hub of the primetime lineup on CNNI, the entire lineup could unravel. Katherine Green, CNNI's program director, really risked her career at CNN on that.
gameshowguy2000 1 Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 If my memory serves me right, she also does certain reports for 60 Minutes on CBS.
Jess 1115 Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Performing thread necromancy. Amanpour premiered today as host of This Week. The open is great, the trumpet-based music is fantastic, though some of the graphics need work. The graphics look like they're trying for a BBC feel but I think they're using a little too much red (which puts it dangerously close to a WSVN-type look). And why do they need to insert the ABC logo and name into the titles of all of their news programs? Not a lot of the logos were designed for that and a lot of the renames sound cheesy (what sounds better, "ABC World News" or "World News Tonight"? Thought so...) Still, I like.
C Block 1574 Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I didn't watch, but from the promos, it looks like they copied the Amanpour. look from CNNI down to the red text in Helvetica and pictures of her reporting. She's even wearing the same pant suit in the titlecard in the promo.
news24-7 1 Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Amanpour premiered today as host of This Week. ABC's World News Now takes a look back at some former versions of "This Week" in this ABC News Vault video... http://facebook.com/video/video.php?v=628072974760
