...and, street-level mapping really doesn't do you a whole lot of good when you're looking at a five-minute-old NEXRAD composite.

Yeah these are actually not as reliable as people may think, sure it gives you the sense of accuracy when its so close to home, but in reality its not as live and accurate as some of the truly well placed doppler radars in the area.
