Just for the South Florida viewers,

Today WBFS-TV, sister to WFOR, has dropped all use of the MyNetworkTV look and moniker branding to go now as "TV33." The graphics and on-air design is similar to that of WSBK-TV in Boston.

Looks like local stations are free to drop "My" branding if they choose. KMYQ dropped their "MyQ2" branding for... "JOE TV" (Yes, that's the name, it's Tribune, they're crazy) and new calls of KZJO.

17's still My but I wonder if they'll drop it when baseball season is over.

KPDX in Portland has never used the "My" branding. They changed their branding to "PDX 49" in April 2006 (and slightly changed to "PDX TV" in September 2008).

On top of that, they moved MNTV programming at 11pm...could this be a sign of things to come for the fledgeling mntv.

Great move by WBFS. I wish the West Palm Beach, FL CW and My affils could follow suit. WXCW, the CW affiliate in Fort Myers, is already one step ahead. They call themselves "6-TV", and their logo IMO kinda resembles WKMG's 1998-2001 logo. WTVX (CW) and WTCN (My), if you're reading this message, why don't YOU follow suit.

Uh why? Most of these stations that have gone to local branding had history with those brandings whereas others are coming up with one based off of what their current call letters. Unless a station has a long term history in its market with a local brand or its call letters, creating a local brand just for the helluva is quite moot.

Honestly, I sure wish WLVI-TV would do the same thing. Considering that they're owned by Sunbeam which has a history of branding their station other than with the network (WSVN...7News/the News Station..etc). It's a pipe dream, but hey anything is possible.
