  1. I Do realize that what I’m about to bring up seems to be old, but I honestly have to say that syndication should try American versions of UK game shows, like (cough) Pointless, and keep it an hour length. I’ll bet it would be a decent lead-in to the news. I’ll bet CBS wouldn’t mind it on most of their O&O’s at 3pm, before the 4pm news. I say it’s better than 48 Hours or Dateline reruns. Otherwise syndication would be going through the motions to a point where it ultimately dies. Now, IF you’re wondering why I want this to be in syndication, IF you put it on a network, it is likely they’ll dumb it down to a point where you’re so turned off that you ultimately prefer the UK counterpart. But what if you wanted to Be on the UK counterpart, well unless you’re a British citizen, you cannot be a contestant on it, and you don’t Have all the time in the World to be a UK citizen. Another Slap in the face, right there. Oh, as for why I say most of the O&O’s, KDKA’s 3pm news, I’m sure is #1. So, in Pittsburgh, it would have to be on WPKD. Sorry for my stance on US counterparts of UK game shows, but Dumbing Down US counterparts turns me off, and it is unlikely Who Wants to be a millionaire will ever come back. I wish that would, and With a live audience.
  2. Nor does Boston. Needless to say MNTV should Never have been a network to begin with.
  3. Will the CW in Tampa be on WFLA’s spectrum or WTTA’s?
  4. Well, based on what I read on Zap2It, the content on WPTV 5.2’s replacement channel is, IMO, God Awful. The channel is DeFy. I have HotWire, and I’m worried that MeTV isn’t getting a new home, anytime soon. I’d prefer it move to 399 because, ever since WWHB-CD 48.4 switched to TBD, channel 399 has been blank with a Technical Difficulty message that has been there since late February, Seriously.
  5. Forgive me for supposedly being the most delusional person on this site, but I’ve just got to pitch Pointless as a test run idea. I would recommend leaving it an hour long, and syndicating it for Daytime, as I personally think putting it in prime time will cause the network to Butcher it up causing anyone who’s seen the OG UK version to think Our version is awful. I, as an American, have seen so many US renditions of international counterparts get Butchered up to a point where American people don’t seem to care any more. It is my opinion that the butchering is usually to attract an audience that doesn’t care about having an education at all. This hurts me to my core and I find it appalling that for people of the UK Pointless mentality, Jeopardy!, The Chase, and GSN’s Master Minds, are the only options. I’m also appalled by how abc did Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (2020 version) with Jimmy Kimmel dirty by putting its second cycle, or rather most of it against Sunday Night Football on NBC. It really hurts that the audience they built for this version will never be filled because of how Arrogant abc was back then. Millionaire Must Return also.
  6. Unfortunately, it looks like Kelly Clarkson isn’t leaving 1:36AM anytime soon. Just looked on Zap2it, and the 3pm news on WSB appears to be permanent. Since that’s the case, I’d like to see WXIA and/or WAGA make some effort to rescue Kelly Clarkson from having to work the graveyard shift on Christmas. I mean, seriously, does her show Really have to be on at 1:36 in the morning?
  7. Well, honestly, I would rather see the Kelly Clarkson move to either WXIA or WAGA, rather than it stay at 1:36am. If it must stay at 1:36am, then it would mean that ratings must've been bad nationally. If I were one of the other stations, I would not hesitate to get her show right away, bc her show, IMO, does NOT belong at 1:36 in the morning.
  8. No answer on that one, but I Hope they’re doing better than ever. If they are, maybe there’s potential for WOIO in Cleveland to rename itself as WONF, Ohio News First, and potential for WXIX in Cincinnati to rename Themselves as WCNF, Cincinnati News First.
  9. Not a bad set, although I was actually hoping for WMTW to go with a set similar to what WYFF and WXII are using right now.
  10. In the OKC, this Laughable newscast title existed:
  11. I see JHud appears to be doing well, but I’m curious to know about season 4 of Kelly Clarkson and Tamron Hall. How are those shows doing in the ratings?
  12. A thought occurred to me today, is NBC attempting to air the West Coast version of NBC Nightly News on the East Coast, just like it airs the East Coast version on the West?
  13. Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if they beat channels 11, 5, AND 2 in the ratings. Their new image has me under the impression that ANF has Serious potential to be #1 in Atlanta for years, if not decades to come.
  14. You know, honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if the move of Kelly Clarkson to KPRC and Dr. Phil to KHOU were the decision. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised to see many other CBS affiliates, like WNCN, WLKY, and KCCI all replace Ellen with Dr. Phil. I’d change the channel, though, since his shows are dark toned, which IMO, there is way too much of on American TV these days. If that’s how Americans want it, then I must think that they’ve got as much personality as a slab of wood.
  15. Something tells me that WSMV and other NBC affiliates have been waiting for the arrival of NBC News Daily to hype up their station as having “Fifteen Non-Stop Hours of News”, and WSMV has the perfect voice over for it, Scott Chapin. Actually, it’s really 14.5 hours, as this News block currently begins at 4:30am.

Unfortunately, this was a face I grew up with, while growing up in Boston: Former WBZ-TV meteorologist Bruce Schwoegler dies at 80 - CBS Boston (cbsnews.com)
  17. Speaking Of break ins, is that Really what viewers have been wanting?

    In Memoriam

Aside from the Dodgers, I’m sure his famous moment came when he was the play by play announcer for the 1986 World Series on NBC, Especially when it came to game 6. After Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner botched that famous catch resulting in the Mets winning it, Scully uttered a more famous quote three minutes after that moment that went: ”If One picture is worth a thousand words, you have seen about a million words”, and there’s more to that quote.
  19. Yeah, I also think Elliot Rodriguez stinks. He can’t hold a candle to Antonio Mora. Honestly, I’m asking how the hell he is still on CBS4. Must be Nepotism. M-Fin’ Nepotism. The moment he’s finally gone, likely by retirement, I’ll start watching CBS 4 again.
  20. Neither do I, but apparently, this is America, and it’s all about greed. Honestly, if TV is nothing But News, I really don’t see how this makes America the greatest country in the world. Anyone loving all these newscasts must have about as much personality as a slab of wood.
  21. Whether or not we are, I’d rather ask myself Not whether America really needs all these newscasts, but rather whether Americans WANT them? Are Americans really asking for the end of syndication as we know it?
  22. In the West Palm Beach DMA, I can tell you that Jennifer Hudson is airing at 3pm on WPBF, where Dr.Oz(later the Good Dish) aired. My guess is the debut of a 4pm newscast in Ellen’s soon to be former time slot. Also, I’m Guessing WPTV will air Sherri Shepherd against Jennifer Hudson, but anything goes.
  23. Honestly, I’m not even sure how it lasted as long as it did on the NBC affiliate in West Palm Beach, WPTV, since 2014.
  24. Actually, I’m guessing that the KRON isn’t a mistake. I think KNTV in San Francisco might follow suit with KNBC and start a 3pm news of Their own.
  25. Speaking of Test runs, I have a question. If an American version of the UK hit game show Pointless were considered for syndication, and it was an hour long, just like its British counterpart, but with commercials, would you watch it? Or would you rather watch coverage of a mass shooting instead? And please be honest. If I worked in television, I would pitch Pointless for the CBS owned stations. What day you?
