  1. I Do realize that what I’m about to bring up seems to be old, but I honestly have to say that syndication should try American versions of UK game shows, like (cough) Pointless, and keep it an hour length. I’ll bet it would be a decent lead-in to the news. I’ll bet CBS wouldn’t mind it on most of their O&O’s at 3pm, before the 4pm news. I say it’s better than 48 Hours or Dateline reruns. Otherwise syndication would be going through the motions to a point where it ultimately dies. Now, IF you’re wondering why I want this to be in syndication, IF you put it on a network, it is likely they’ll dumb it down to a point where you’re so turned off that you ultimately prefer the UK counterpart. But what if you wanted to Be on the UK counterpart, well unless you’re a British citizen, you cannot be a contestant on it, and you don’t Have all the time in the World to be a UK citizen. Another Slap in the face, right there. Oh, as for why I say most of the O&O’s, KDKA’s 3pm news, I’m sure is #1. So, in Pittsburgh, it would have to be on WPKD. Sorry for my stance on US counterparts of UK game shows, but Dumbing Down US counterparts turns me off, and it is unlikely Who Wants to be a millionaire will ever come back. I wish that would, and With a live audience.
  2. Nor does Boston. Needless to say MNTV should Never have been a network to begin with.
  3. Will the CW in Tampa be on WFLA’s spectrum or WTTA’s?
  4. Well, based on what I read on Zap2It, the content on WPTV 5.2’s replacement channel is, IMO, God Awful. The channel is DeFy. I have HotWire, and I’m worried that MeTV isn’t getting a new home, anytime soon. I’d prefer it move to 399 because, ever since WWHB-CD 48.4 switched to TBD, channel 399 has been blank with a Technical Difficulty message that has been there since late February, Seriously.
  5. A thought occurred to me today, is NBC attempting to air the West Coast version of NBC Nightly News on the East Coast, just like it airs the East Coast version on the West?

Unfortunately, this was a face I grew up with, while growing up in Boston: Former WBZ-TV meteorologist Bruce Schwoegler dies at 80 - CBS Boston (cbsnews.com)
  7. Speaking Of break ins, is that Really what viewers have been wanting?

Aside from the Dodgers, I’m sure his famous moment came when he was the play by play announcer for the 1986 World Series on NBC, Especially when it came to game 6. After Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner botched that famous catch resulting in the Mets winning it, Scully uttered a more famous quote three minutes after that moment that went: ”If One picture is worth a thousand words, you have seen about a million words”, and there’s more to that quote.
  9. Actually, I’m guessing that the KRON isn’t a mistake. I think KNTV in San Francisco might follow suit with KNBC and start a 3pm news of Their own.
  10. She announced this on the 36th anniversary of when she joined News Channel 5: https://www.wptv.com/about-us/kelley-dunn-announces-retirement-after-36-years-at-wptv?_amp=true
  11. Speaking Of WPBF, is it me, or does WPBF really Hate abc? I ask because they've been pre-empting primetime shows a lot, especially this past summer, and fall of 2020. I wonder if there is anything about abc that is getting under the skin of WPBF.
  12. I'm sorry, but I do Not like the new logo. It is atrocious. I agree with iron lion, the previous logo was Way better. This ewww logo is a step backwards, IMO.
  13. In fact, five other ABC O&Os have replaced Laff with thisTv. Only KTRK and KFSN still carry Laff on .3’s.
  14. Getting back to WSFL, I hope their morning news has the vibe like the Good Day format that can be found on most of the Fox O&O’s. You know I actually find it appalling that Miami has only one English language choice for local news from 7-9am, Hard News, and no other alternative. Apparently, to me, WBFS and pre-Scripps WSFL were not willing to compete and provide an English language lighter option. If WBFS were to have one, of course it would be from WFOR. I mean, imagine living in Miami, raising children waiting to go to school, and it was around 7:30am. You want to watch local news in English. Unfortunately, you’re stuck with the compelling newscast that is Today in Florida on WSVN. This is why I’m hopeful that WSFL in ‘21 will provide audiences with a lighter alternative from 7-10am, along with the 4-7am portion, of course.
  15. Well, here you go: https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/the-view-sara-haines-host-1234735203/
  16. Reminds me of what Rhode Island's WJAR used in the mid-1980's.
  17. Thank goodness I don’t live in the Triad. How dare WFMY move Ellen to mornings. I hope it returns to afternoons soon. I wish they’d considered moving it to WXII if WFMY didn’t want it in the afternoons. Not to be heartless, but this is the holiday season, and unless Ellen was losing in the afternoons in Greensboro, or she opened her mouth to something, that is horrible.
  18. One would have to wonder what kind of ratings Ellen has been getting in Greensboro, NC. I’d have to assume they’re not good enough with this kind of downgrade.
  19. I sincerely Doubt Sunbeam will sell their stations after Ansin. I’m sure that the estate will own them. Sunbeam Will Live On.
  20. I’ve never been to the Hampton Roads, but I remember reading two years ago about Crystal Harper and her battle with cancer. I must say how proud I am of her for surviving, and her departure is sad because I feel she really captured the hearts of the Hampton Roads. Good Luck with her future endeavors.
  21. I’ve been reading on ABC’s Facebook page that a lot of people want The Chew back. I’m not sure why.
  22. I think this was exclusively for ABC affiliates at the time, go to 2:23 in the following video and see a number of ABC stations that used it:
  23. How many CBS affiliates, that weren’t KCBS or WBZ were tempted to air this: https://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/bears-fan-quiz/2859839
  24. Well, based on its success, it looks like the days of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! on Local 10 appear to be numbered, as it wouldn’t surprise me if they were to introduce news at 7 and 7:30 on that station. If both shows Do have to move, I sure hope that they end up on a station Other than WSVN. I’m a big fan of both shows.
  25. Any word on when WPRI/WNAC will get these graphics?
