BREAKING: FOX returns to Cablevision systems in NYC and Philadelphia

...And it does not seem to have ended nicely, for Cablevision, at least:

 

“In the absence of any meaningful action from the FCC, Cablevision has agreed to pay Fox an unfair price for multiple channels of its programming including many in which our customers have little or no

interest,” Cablevision said, adding that it “conceded because it does not think its customers should any longer be denied the Fox programs they wish to see.”

 

The company reiterated its belief that “the retransmission consent system is badly broken and needs to be fixed,” something that a number of other cable and satellite distributors also say.

Refund time Mr. Dolan. Let's see: we pay $18 a month for Fox, so we lost it for two weeks...$9. Plus say...$11 for customer disservice. How about a credit for $20?

Wishful thinking, but not very insightful, since the "$18" isn't just for Fox but for many other broadcast cable and free stations. I wish some people would get off that topic and realize what is really going on here with networks eventually leeching the public for free tv.

Absolutely, there will be a day when FiOS will be affected as well. In fact there are a few channels such as MSG which are not in HD because of unsettled disputes with Cablevision. But since Fios is relatively new I'm not expecting these disputes for quite some time...
