Weeters 1916
My collection is lacking, but here's WITI's: They're probably the best in the market, since everyone else uses massive lower thirds that cause the picture to be squished. Also: if anyone's looking for a place to upload screengrabs you should check out the super awesome, ad-free TVNT Design Gallery! geoffbruno 0
Alright, here's what I got from Cincinnati local stations. Unfortunately I was only able to get camera-captured images, but these are still of relatively good quality. Enjoy... WXIX-TV (Channel 19-Fox) This is a shot from syndicated programming running at the 7:00 time-slot after the conclusion of their local news, during which there were no "bottom-of-screen" updates. WXIX is owned by Raycom. WLWT-TV (Channel 5-NBC) The close shot of the Election L3 was taken during Nightly News with Brian Williams. The FSG was taken from a special election broadcast after the conclusion of Nightly News. These graphics were present during broadcasting but not in commercials. WLWT is owned by Hearst Broadcasting. WCPO-TV (Channel 9-ABC) The full screen shot of the L3 was taken during the 7:00 syndicated broadcast of Wheel of Fortune, and the close shot was from commercials. WCPO ran their election graphics through broadcasting and commercials, but did not have special election coverage until 9pm on their secondary channel. WCPO is owned by the E.W. Scripps Company. WKRC-TV (Channel 12-CBS/CW) The full screen shot was taken from their broadcast of the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, and the closer shot was taken from that broadcast as well. WKRC did not run their results through the commercials. WKRC is owned by Newport Broadcasting. Once again, I apologize for the sub-par quality, and I hope you all have an excellent election day! Below, I have listed the order in which the attached images are... 1)WCPO (close shot) 2)WCPO (full screen) 3)WKRC (close shot) 4)WKRC (full screen) 5)WLWT (close shot) 6)WLWT (FSG) 7)WXIX (close shot) Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/6895-election-graphics/#findComment-62592 Share on other sites

Weeters 1916
WITI repurposed the "Real Milwaukee" desk: And of course, WDJT had to go against CBS' guidelines for election returns. I have been informed affiliated were told not to squish the picture and were even given templates to cover up the network returns using the HD character generator many affiliates have. WDJT decided to use their crappy L3 instead: Later they messed up the fullscreen too: *le sigh* Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/6895-election-graphics/#findComment-62598 Share on other sites
A3N 1002
*KUSI- Graphics are a big improvement, compared to previous elections. *KSWB- one of the best election graphics in the market (the other, KGTV) *KGTV- Nicest graphics in San Diego. *KNSD is using the generic O&O election graphics, and KFMB is using their 5 year old graphics/election graphics. TVNewsRI 4
Providence: -WJAR's graphics were absolutely HORRIBLE. They put everything in that tiny box, including the NBC HD programming, making it unwatchable. I don't understand why just having that small ticker at the bottom wasn't an option... -WLNE's were good for them, and they only put a small semi-transparent ticker over ABC HD programming, which was excellent. -WPRI's were the best in the market, and I didn't get to see what they put over CBS HD programming because they preempted it, as well as most of primetime, for local coverage. Boston -WBZ's were the cleanest and sharpest looking -WCVB's were the generic Hearst electgraphics -WHDH's were typical 7 style - loud, red, and blue -WFXT's were the FOX O&O election graphics -All Boston stations put non-invasive small tickers on the network HD programming. mightynine 290
Just a comment from me - CBS News' election graphics looked leaps and bounds better than what they use on a regular basis. They really should consider going on some variation of those full-time. qunewsguy 377
I still can't stand CBS's election graphics. From the font choice to the color scheme and chunkyness it all screams "2000" to me. I have to agree with you on that. In fact, the same can be said about all of their graphics. That said, I LOVE their theme music. By far the best election theme of all the networks. ProButtonPusher 230
I don't understand the complaining about squeezing down network programming - especially when you have lots of races. The scrolling would take longer and be unreadable. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/6895-election-graphics/#findComment-62616 Share on other sites
