After three years of using The Tower, WCNC has switched to Right Here, Right Now as of this week. It's interesting because WBTV used RHRN for a few years in the early 2000s.

I'm sure it's happened but I'm just too lazy to look it up :) but can anyone think of recent cases where two stations in the same market have used the same news package at different times?

These aren't recent, but...

In Midland/Odessa, TX, KOSA used Advantage and now it's being used on KWES.

And in Lexington, KY, WLEX picked up In-Sink three years after WTVQ dropped it.

There are a good handful of markets where PNP and Enforcer have been used by different stations, but of course, those are two different packages...

Philadelphia is a good example of that - KYW (channel 3) and WCAU (channel 10) swapped affiliations in 1995, the latter being sold from CBS to NBC and the former being sold from Group W to CBS.

WCAU used WBBM's original "Channel 2 News" package, then a custom package with the same signature, and finally the Palmer News Package before moving to NBC. KYW has recently used both News in Focus and CBS Enforcer, which sound at times a lot like PNP to... anyone who doesn't keep track of news packages. (KYW also at one point had a custom version of Enforcer with their old KYW NewsRadio jingle-inspired signature.)

WREG used the Palmer News Package at one point in the early 1990s. WPTY/WLMT has been using it for much of the past decade.

The ongoing use of the Palmer News Package in Memphis. WREG in the 90s, then WPTY/WLMT from 2002 onward.

Case in point, when KYW switched to News In Focus, the papers actually picked up that they were "switching to a version of the theme Channel 10 used in the 90s". I honestly think it was a brilliant move, because people obviously remembered the theme from when 10 was a hard-hitting CBS affiliate and arguably the highest quality TV news in the market. It's certainly helped the CBS 3 brand become as strong as the old KYW-3 brand, if not stronger.

A lot of the Gari packages are similar sounding, though not identical.

In Tampa, WTSP used "NewsSeries 2000 Plus" from 1994 to 1999 and then WFTS used "Eyewitness News" from 2007 to 2009.
