  3. Australia Tuesday, May 26th - Justin Stevens resigns as ABC's news director. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-05-27/abc-justin-stevens-resigns-as-director-of-news/106728188 Thursday, May 28th - Simon Robinson has been appointed as their new news director. He is currently the deputy to the editor-in-chief at Reuters, where he has been for 16 years. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-05-28/abc-appoints-simon-robinson-as-news-director/106729310 This is the first time in decades that ABC has hired a news director from outside their news organization, as they usually promote from within. However, Mr. Robinson doesn't start until September. So in the meantime, Donna Field, who is ABC's current head of Regional, Rural and Metro News, is serving as their interim news director.

  5. Spain A surreal moment today, all captured on live television. Pope Leo XIV is in Spain today for the first papal visit to the country in 15 years. In what has to be an amazing moment for RTVE, he was taken to the popemobile that was waiting at the RTVE headquarters at the Spain Tower, the Torrespana, in downtown Madrid. It was aired live during a special broadcast of RTVE. Imagine your one of the world's largest public broadcasters and your briefly greeted by the Pope, of all people, at your own national broadcasting headquarters.
  6. Here’s the YouTube version Here’s the YouTube version of the interview:
  7. Scott Pelley talks to the New York Times about what happened. It ain't pretty (gift link): https://www.nytimes.com/2026/06/07/magazine/scott-pelley-interview.html?unlocked_article_code=1.oVA.7cWl.-R4RPWwUkbeP&smid=url-share
  8. It feels more jarring to me because WTMJ had Black VOs the last few years like Mia Bankston that worked perfectly for them, so I just don't like the idea of them being replaced by flavorless neutral voices.
  9. That explains why she doesn’t quite sound right. Her American accent is a put on most likely. I hope we keep Brian Lee here in Detroit if the alternative may be that sort of thing. We had Sonny Warner doing a few promos about 15 years ago or so… but she sounded reasonable.
  10. The voice over is a real person her name is Posy Brewer and from what I could find on her is she’s a vo that is over in the UK.
  11. It gives off AI vibes. I hope its a real person.
  12. Yesterday
  13. Wow! One of the most unique stations I've seen!
  14. She has a good voice....for an educational or health services video.
  15. More Interrogatories were filed in the Court case, also isn't using the wife in this against the rules? Saying he told his wife he has a gambling problem?
  16. Twice this week, WTNH has run an ad for their website during their late news. What's unusual is that the ad claims the website is "new"....even though it hasn't changed in years now. I assume they're just running an old ad without updating it and/or it's a case of "Please listen carefully as our menu options have changed." Anyone else see this with their local Nexstar stations?
  17. Based on Facebook posts from dismissed and retained staffers, it looks like they’ll go statewide from Missoula in the mornings and at noon (was already statewide). Then, in the evenings, I’m betting Scrippscasts will air as “Newscasts will be unique to each of the state’s television markets with locally focused news stories.” This leads me to believe the Billings anchor will front at least an “A” block for each individual market ala video jukebox then the markets will share the remainder of the newscast (maybe live, maybe not). Weather stays live in the evenings in each market per posts. This may actually be worse than what Cowles does with their stations as they’re at least live - for now. *Apologies for the large font
  18. Changes are coming to the Montana Television Network and it's stations. Starting Monday, the network will launch new statewide newscasts across all of their stations with some localized content. Newscasts will be coming out of KPAX in the mornings and KTVQ in the evenings.
  19. Since launching the new look, it is. She is one of the new unknown voiceovers Scripps has been pushing out.
  20. Please tell me that isn’t their normal voiceover….
  21. Interesting thing i noticed about the new animation--they have an animation segueing into the AGT open, at least tonight--the logo zoomed in a bit as it faded into a cloud background. Don't know if it was just reversing the animation or an actual seperate animation though.
  22. Last week
  23. UPDATE And they have their replacement. Its Elyse Chengery at 5:00, 6:00, and 11:00 on WBBH, joining Peter Busch on the main shows. EDIT: She will continue to anchor the 7:00pm news on WZVN. https://www.instagram.com/p/DZNrplWmTeB/?igsh=MTB4YThyM2FrdDhvYQ==
  24. They're the last glimmer of hope I have left for that program. Once they're gone, Sunday Morning is the last CBS News program I would even watch. At least that program is still untouched... yet.
  25. Taking a cue from Sen. Susan Collins, Lesley Stahl, Bill Whitaker and Jon Wertheim are very concerned.

  27. Two different things... Payton Marshall is heading back to her old stomping grounds... at WKEF. She has since left WCHS after only being there a year. https://www.instagram.com/p/DZLYS3qxi4p/?igsh=MXI3bW5iMGc4eTcyZQ== After six years at WZZM, Alana Holland has decided to leave the station to do something differently in her career. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZMEUIwFPQ_/?igsh=a3p4N3g1MXBqNXpq
  28. WTVD followed WABC's lead for tonight's Hurricanes win.
