  1. Sorry for not paying attention here, but what if someone is on the buyout eligible list, but chooses not to take the buyout? The package must be pretty sweet since I have not seen any bad words from any of the players...or is there a non-disclosure ??? Just not seeing many details anywhere.

  2. Of all those people, Shirek is the only one at 11 Alive who joined while it was still an ABC station (for at least one more year)?! WAGA has Morse Diggs, Randy Travis, and Dale Russell who've all been there since its CBS days. Could "Fox 5 News Weekend with Deidra Dukes and Keith Whitney" be far behind?

  4. The buyouts keep on coming and going. First Austin (KVUE), Houston (KHOU), Minneapolis (KARE), Norfolk (WVEC), Corpus Christi (KIII), Atlanta (WXIA), Grand Rapids (WZZM), now add Louisville (WHAS) to the list. Melissa Swan of Kentuckiana's ABC affiliate is retiring. The station will celebrate her career with a series of special reports starting at 4PM, her final newscasts at 5 & 6PM is on April 21st of next week. http://www.whas11.com/news/local/whas11-congratulates-melissa-swan-on-31-years-of-service-to-kentuckiana-swan-to-retire-april-21/135032764

  5. An indicator of a graphics modification coming down the line is the fact that these new weather graphics extend beyond the 4:3 protected space. This is the first thing they have run that has taken advantage of modern picture dimensions.

  6. Greg Copeland will more then likely replace Dennis Bounds Danielle Leigh will take over Greg's spot at 4 & 9 pm. As for Jeff Renner's replacement seniority wise it would be Rich Marriott but I could also see Jim Guy getting it with Mary Lee taking over the 4 & 9 pm shows.

  10. I would be very surprised if Dan Lewis joins KING 5 as their main anchor.

  11. Is he associated with any of the major music companies? If not, I wonder if KFMB owns the package outright.

  12. Before Willie, the real front runner was Lester Holt. He was already the host of Weekend Today and he had the "it factor" necessary to become a full time host. He is very likable, solid credentials, has chemistry with his co-anchors could transition well from hard news to entertainment. He was the viewers favorite on the Today show. Geist had more tv time after Lester was promoted to full time Dateline host. Before Willie came, Lester Holt was the fill in and on the weekday show quite often, when he got the Dateline host position he slowly transitioned away from the Today show. David Gregory was on shaky ground cause of his MTP job and eventually was fired and Geist got the position by default.
